The International Cloud Championship 2014
Some of you might be wondering what the International Cloud Championship was all about, so for those of you who missed it, here’s a brief recap of the very close competition! As a sponsor of ICC, which was hosted by The Vape Town in Woodland Hills, VapeRev’s CEO was invited to participate as a judge during the event. Along side him was Garry Rivera, the CEO of Surefire Vapor, who donated a custom King mod for the 1st place winner’s grand prize!
Along with the custom King engraved with “1st Place ICC 2014,” and the #IMPROOF logo, the grand prize winner received $500 cash, a trophy, and other cool prizes! Participants who scored second or third place also received cash prizes and a trophy, but everyone who participated left with something! With such generous giveaways taking place, exciting raffles, and an enjoyable setting to spend the evening in, a ton of people attended ICC! There were a total of fifty challengers, all of which had supporters, and as the first ever ICC began things inside The Vape Town started to get pretty hazy!
The challenge itself wasn’t only about blowing the biggest cloud, contestants also had to prepare their winning build in ten minutes or less before they could compete! The supplies needed to build coils were provided by Hotwires, another sponsor of ICC. Once their build was done, which wasn’t always easy, they waited patiently for their turn to come around while carefully assessing the other guys they were up against. Before each competitor stepped up to the cloud measurement wall, they were given a fully charged battery and e-liquid to prime their fresh build! Praline Dream was the e-liquid provided by Ballistic Vape to help ensure that every aspect of the competition was fair across the board!
The shop wasn’t quite big enough to house everyone who showed up to support ICC, so as the judges deliberated and scored those competing inside The Vape Town, other attendees enjoyed the food, music, and fresh air out back. The crowd was diverse, friendly, and everyone was happy to be there. It was a joy to see so many people make their way to Woodland Hills to support the shop and the competition!
After the top three were announced, the prizes were passed out and photo-ops began! The hosts, sponsors, judges, and winners all gathered together to get some snapshots before things started to settle down. The event itself had an amazing turn out, and I’m sure those who didn’t make it to the top are looking forward to the next International Cloud Championship for their second chance at showing SoCal their skills! We’re looking forward to the next ICC as well, and were happy to be a part of this year’s!
